The Summer of Triathlon Part 1...

Ok - I have been a TERRIBLE blogger - I realize this... and as I am leaving for the airport - to fly to penticton - to race IRONMAN CANADA in 13 hours... and I have not packed - AND I am still at work - I don't think I will actually get caught up on my blogging today... shocked? not me!!
BUT I do have my race pics saved from the summer and lots of stats!

In short - amazing season - one sprint tri - two olympic distance tris (my latest - second female overall!!), on half ironman - FIRST FEMALE OVERALL, and lots of training, recovery, ART Massage and fun... I have met so many amazing people along the way - I would not have been up at Meech for 6am swims without them!

As well, I've managed to keep some balance in my life this summer - which I will probably kick myself over while suffering away on sunday - BUT I have no regrets - Bluesfest was amazing, escaping to the cottage for a couple of days, patios, red wine, girlfriends... new relationship - what a way to impress a guy - 4:45am wakeups for swimming!! :-)

All in all, an amazing summer and I can't imagine a better way to end it than with Ironman Canada this Sunday! For all you Ontario Folk - 10am ontario time start (7am BC time...) THINK OF ME - and send me strong survival thoughts please!!!

Ok - must start clearing off my desk - then to ART with Geoff Outerbridge at the Holistic Clinic - then back home to try to figure out how to pack my bike into the bike bag I rented. I also must find a strategy to convince Air Canada NOT to lose my bags in Toronto, or Vancouver... oh - and then they seem to recommend that pre-ironman you sleep - so I should try that as well!!!

I promise to blog next week when I'm back - and provide a link to my HUGE online photo album which I will have collected from my time out west!

Cheers everyone - next time I will (hopefully) be reporting to you as an IRONMAN!!! (no ironman tatoo though - don't worry - mom is coming with me :-)
